Bernhard Niesner studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and completed his MBA in Madrid. After gaining experience in the consulting industry, he co-founded Busuu in 2008 together with Adrian Hilti. In 2018, he received the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award in the “Disruptor” category from EY in the UK. After almost 14 years, he sold Busuu in 2021 for € 385 million to the US group Chegg Inc. A Vienna native, he now lives in London with his wife and two children, and acts as an active Investor and Business Angel.
